A full-looking cushion in a styled photograph can make a cover-only listing appear to include an insert. The customer may not discover the difference until the parcel arrives.
State the selling unit first. Then explain the dimensions and construction that determine whether the cover suits the customer's existing cushion.
Put cover-only information near the price
If the insert is not included, say so clearly in the title or immediate product information. Do not rely on a note at the bottom of the page.
If an insert option is available, identify it as a separate choice and describe what is supplied. Keep the photograph and selected option aligned.
A styled sofa image can remain useful, but it should not be the only explanation of the contents.
Measure the cover consistently
State the finished cover dimensions and the method used. Identify whether measurements refer to the flat cover rather than an insert recommendation.
Do not promise compatibility with every insert carrying the same nominal size. Explain any maker-supported guidance relevant to your construction.
For a handmade cover, establish the actual variation your process allows. Avoid an exact-looking number unsupported by inspection.
Show the closure and reverse
Photograph the zip, envelope opening, buttons or other closure. Show the back as well as the decorative front.
If the reverse uses a different fabric or colour, describe it. A single front image should not imply that the design continues around the whole cover.
Check that the closure is accessible and that the description reflects the finished product, not an earlier sample.
Explain pattern placement
A patterned fabric may produce different motif positions across covers. Show representative variation where it genuinely occurs.
Do not use that explanation to send a different print or colourway. Keep the named fabric and intended design consistent.
If the customer is buying several covers for a coordinated arrangement, explain whether exact pattern matching is offered. Do not promise a matched set unless you can assemble one.
Describe materials and care accurately
Use confirmed composition and product-specific care information. If trims, piping or embroidery require different treatment, account for them in the guidance.
Avoid unverified claims such as stain-proof, outdoor-safe or fade-proof. A fabric's appearance alone does not establish those properties.
For broader material wording, refer to the materials and care guide.
Photograph scale without disguising the product
Use a plain view and, if helpful, a room setting that makes the dimensions understandable. Identify other cushions and props that are not included.
Do not digitally enlarge the cover to make it fill more of a sofa. The written measurement and visual impression should support each other.
If several sizes share one page, label the photographed size and ensure the customer can identify the selected one.
Keep sets and singles distinct
A pair of covers should state the quantity and whether both designs are identical. A photo of four cushions should not represent a single-cover purchase without explanation.
If customers can mix colours, record each selected cover in the order. A general “two-piece set” label may be insufficient for packing.
Check quantities and variants before sealing the parcel, especially when similar colours are stored together.
Answer fit enquiries with evidence
When a customer asks whether the cover will suit an existing insert, explain your measurements and ask them to compare using the stated method. Avoid guaranteeing a result from a vague description such as a standard cushion.
If the requested arrangement needs a custom size, use a separate confirmed specification rather than changing the standard listing.
A good cushion-cover page answers the basic question immediately: what exactly arrives? It then gives the customer enough information to compare that item with the insert, furniture and style they already have, without pretending that one photograph can settle every fit decision.
Before restocking a familiar design, compare the new closure and reverse fabric with the existing page. Small supplier changes can make an otherwise unchanged photograph incomplete.
